Alliances in the Field of Inspiration
Over the past two years, my connection with the Sidhe and the realm of nature has converged. Though they inhabit a non-physical dimension with respect to the human realm, they, like ourselves, are deeply engaged with what we term nature. They, too, are concerned with all the changes occurring in the natural world. And recognize that for the well being of Gaia and all living beings a new constellation of relationships needs to emerge between Humans, Sidhe, and Nature. This blog is one of several conversations that have arisen as I have initiated a new nature-focused course called “Deepening Into Nature.” ~ Ron Hays, Editor
When we think or speak of joy or love, we refer to a quality that affects and transforms our experience. It is as if I am alone, walking in a field shrouded with fog. Then, shafts of sunlight pierce the fog, revealing the beauty of the wildflowers and meadow grass surrounding me. I am filled with joy. Is the sun joy, are the flowers or grass joy? Or have I opened myself and allowed the quality of joy fill me? It is likely that the flowers did not suddenly bloom when touched by the sunbeams, but I did. I began vibrating at a different frequency, revealing this new world to me.
Opening ourselves to qualities like joy, love, and compassion transfigures the composition of our presence. Our expression through our manifestations has the capacity to bring us into greater harmony with our environment. We sound a note capable of attunement, resonating with a larger sphere of life.
With joy comes a sense of trust and confidence in the upwelling of the sacred through the multiple dimensions of existence. With love comes connection, a connection that weaves the sacred through the body of life. With compassion comes empathy, an understanding that life pulses from the heart of the sacred. To these, I add inspiration. With inspiration comes the sacred impulse of emergence, the manifest erupting in new relationships. To paraphrase my early teacher, “Humanity aspires. The sacred inspires.”
For millennia, Sidhe and Humans have shared a relationship with Nature. While humans dwell in the realm of nature’s physical manifestation, the Sidhe experience nature's vibrational or energetic dimension—what we call the subtle worlds. Over time, the connections between Sidhe and Humans, Humans and Nature have frayed to such an extent that it threatens the well-being of all life. Just as many humans are acutely aware of the dangers this poses to Gaia, so too are the Sidhe.
There is an ask coming forth from Gaia to forge a new alliance between Nature and both branches of the greater humanity: Humans and Sidhe. An alliance that recognizes the kinship of all beings and the emergence of new partnerships between greater humanity and the natural realm.
Love will be required, compassion also, and the recognition of the sovereignty of all beings. Beyond this, as physical beings, we need to abandon millennia of misconceptions about nature and our roles and relationships with it. For this, we need new, heartfelt insights, new forms of connections, and new kinds of communication. For this, we need inspiration.
Like love, joy, and compassion, inspiration is a field we can open ourselves to. It is a sacred quality we share with Nature and the Sidhe. If we visualize inspiration as a sphere and step into its influence with the intention of creating new relationships with nature, we will find both Sidhe and Nature there with us. What emerges can be new if we allow its newness to manifest within us.
The Sidhe are inviting us to step into this inspirational field, knowing that they have the capacity to enhance its potential to inspire new partnerships with humanity and nature. This is the alliance Gaia is calling forth, and we can respond to it.
There is an old Daoist paradox – “How do you know the fish are happy? Do you project your feelings onto nature, or does nature inspire you?”
Perhaps it is both. For our work together, forming this new alliance, it does not matter. It is research and experimentation. It is an exploration with willing partners if we are willing to explore ourselves.
