Presence to Presence
Mariel is the Sidhe contact that has worked with David Spangler and Jeremy Berg in producing the Card Deck of the Sidhe mentioned below. She has also collaborated with David on two books about the Sidhe: Conversations with the Sidhe and Engaging with the Sidhe. The communication below occurred as David, Jeremy, and others were discussing a new class they offered this spring by the Lorian Association. Mariel says at conclusion, "…we shall be there with you.” Having attended the in-person workshop held at the end of the class, I and many others sensed their strong participation. ~ ed.
MARIEL: Remember that our relationship began with the creation of a tool of contact and communication with us. [Card Deck of the Sidhe ~ ed.] This was a first step. It was also a step away from engaging with us through images, particularly of the past, which is why I asked you not to paint representations of what we look like.
This has been a successful step. It is focused on the relationship between Sidhe and human persons, acknowledging our differences and our respective strengths.
Now it is time for a further step, one that emphasizes our shared identity as humans and more specifically as incarnating humans. It is true we do not incarnate into matter in the way you do, but in our own environment, we are as incarnate as you. For us, as for you, incarnation is a process of creating an incarnational vehicle out of the relationships we form with the matter, the life, and the spirit of our environment. To use your imagery, we also perform a Presence Exercise at the heart of which is our embodied soul. We share the same challenge of creating and sharing wholeness.
Because of this, in this respect we are as human as you. Humanity is an artisan of synthesis, a spirit of synthesis, drawing disparate elements together to form a whole that emerges as something greater than the parts that form it. We share this human capacity and nature with you.
Up to now, you tend to see us as “magical,” in that we have characteristics and abilities that you do not. But you are magical, too, and the magic lies in the mystery at the heart of the Presence Exercise. We both participate in that mystery; it is the ground of our common humanity.
This class is an experiment in forming the next step of communication and collaboration, one that is not between human and Sidhe but between two manifestations of humanity engaged with the same task of giving emergence to Presence. It is a communication of Presence to Presence.
We will certainly participate in the class with you, but until the vessel is formed, there is nothing we can pour into it. When the field of the class comes into being, we shall be there with you.
